Bayern Munich vs Union Berlin Match Preview
Bayern Munich will look to continue their unbeaten start to the 2026-27 Bundesliga season when they host Union Berlin on Friday.
Vincent Kompany's side have collected seven points from their opening three league matches, with two victories and one draw. Although Bayern have not been completely convincing in every game, they remain firmly in the early title race and could move to the top of the table with another victory.

That result followed a goalless draw against Schalke 04 on September 5. The draw raised some questions about Bayern's performances against newly promoted opposition, particularly after they had also been made to work hard against Elversberg.
Nevertheless, Bayern remain unbeaten in the Bundesliga and currently occupy fourth place with seven points. A home victory would put Kompany's team in a strong position at the top end of the standings.
Union Berlin Facing Difficult Challenge
Union Berlin have endured a difficult beginning to the Bundesliga campaign under Mauro Lustrinelli.
Die Eisernen have taken just one point from their first three league matches and currently sit 16th in the table. Their defensive problems have been particularly concerning, with the capital club conceding seven goals across their last two Bundesliga fixtures.
Union began the competitive season positively with a 4-2 victory over Eintracht Braunschweig in the DFB-Pokal. They then produced an entertaining 3-3 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt in their league opener.
However, their form quickly deteriorated.
A heavy 4-0 defeat against Bayer Leverkusen was followed by a 3-1 home loss to Schalke 04. Those results have increased the pressure surrounding Lustrinelli, who will be hoping his players can produce a much-improved defensive display against the reigning German giants.

Team News
Bayern Munich have relatively few injury concerns heading into the match. Centre-back Tarek Buchmann remains unavailable as he continues his recovery from surgery following a syndesmosis injury.
Jonathan Tah and Dayot Upamecano are expected to form the central defensive partnership, with Konrad Laimer and Alphonso Davies potentially operating in the full-back positions.
Union Berlin face a considerably longer list of absentees.
Josip Juranovic, Andrik Markgraf, Marvin Friedrich and Stanley N'Soki are all expected to miss the contest, leaving Lustrinelli with limited defensive options.
