Brest head into Sunday's meeting with Paris Saint-Germain in confident mood after Julien Lachuer secured his first victory as a Ligue 1 manager last weekend.
The 2-1 success over Le Havre brought an end to Brest's 13-match winless run in the competition, stretching back to last season. With five points from their opening three matches, they have made their best start to a Ligue 1 campaign since 2023-24, when they collected six points from the same number of games before going on to enjoy a remarkable third-place finish and qualify for the Champions League.
Lachuer will now be targeting his first home league victory in charge. Brest are also searching for their first Ligue 1 win at Stade Francis-Le Blé since beating Le Havre 2-0 in March last year.
The Brittany club are among six teams still unbeaten after the opening three matchdays and could begin a top-flight campaign with four consecutive unbeaten games for the first time this decade.
Brest have also shown plenty of attacking ambition under Lachuer, creating the second-highest number of big chances in Ligue 1 so far. Another positive result would extend their unbeaten home run in domestic competition to four matches and give them a fifth league victory at Stade Francis-Le Blé during 2026.
Standing in their way are a Paris Saint-Germain side experiencing an unusually difficult start to the domestic campaign.
Luis Enrique's reigning champions remain without a win after three Ligue 1 matches and could go four consecutive top-flight games without victory for the first time since 2018.
Defensive problems have been particularly concerning, with PSG conceding at least twice in each of their last four league matches. The club have not endured such a run since January-February 2005.
PSG have also failed to establish their usual dominance away from home this season. They have won their last 10 Ligue 1 away matches when scoring in the first half, but have yet to take an early lead on the road during the current campaign.
Despite their domestic struggles, Enrique's side restored their confidence in Europe during midweek. PSG demolished Slovan Bratislava 6-1 in their Champions League opener, with Ousmane Dembele and Ferran Torres among the goals.
They will now attempt to carry that momentum back into Ligue 1 and end a three-match winless sequence. Interestingly, PSG have already had to recover from two-goal deficits in both of their away league matches this season.
The visitors also have a dominant record against Brest. PSG have won their last seven meetings in all competitions and have not suffered defeat at Stade Francis-Le Blé since 1985.

Brest could be without captain Brendan Chardonnet, who is struggling with a calf strain. Mamady Diambou is also doubtful after picking up a knock, while Kenny Lala faces a fitness test after suffering an ankle injury in the third matchday.
Kamory Doumbia will be one of Brest's main attacking threats. The midfielder scored twice against Le Havre last weekend and currently leads the Ligue 1 scoring charts with four goals.
Paris Saint-Germain, meanwhile, welcome Nuno Mendes back from suspension following his red card. The left-back could return to the starting XI, potentially replacing Lucas Digne after the latter's difficult beginning to life in Paris.
Marquinhos scored PSG's only goal in their 2-1 defeat to Monaco last weekend, but the champions were far more clinical in midweek.
Ousmane Dembele scored twice against Slovan Bratislava, while Ferran Torres produced a hat-trick in the 6-1 Champions League victory. Fabian Ruiz completed the scoring.
With several attacking players finding form in Europe, Enrique will hope PSG can finally translate that performance into their domestic campaign when they travel to Brest.
