The Championship club, who finished 10th last season, are using these friendlies to build momentum before their competitive campaign begins. Birmingham will first face Swansea City in the EFL Cup on August 8 before opening their Championship season against Sheffield United on August 15. Fixtures against Bristol City and Wrexham follow shortly after.
The club have also strengthened their squad this summer, with midfielder Jhon Solis completing a permanent move from Girona after an impressive loan spell during the 2025-26 season.
Barcelona Continue European Training Camp
Barcelona have chosen England for their pre-season preparations instead of touring the United States or Asia, with Hansi Flick's squad based in the Midlands. Alongside Birmingham, the Catalan giants will also face Preston North End, Nottingham Forest, Udinese, and Al Ahly before beginning their La Liga title defence against Elche on August 23.
The Spanish champions made a winning start to pre-season with a 4-1 victory over CE Europa and will now face a much sterner challenge against Birmingham.
